This weekend the kids and I were walking through the woods and came across a stand of Goldenrod. If you look closely you may find a stalk that has a bulb (gall) in the middle. Like this...
That bulb (gall) has an insect larvae inside it. Supposed to be good fish bait. I found one in one of the bulbs I sliced open but tossed it before taking a pic. Looked around and sliced open 3 more but none had the larvae inside. Of course I lost the pic of the split open bulb. I will have to try to find another.
We did find some small grub worms under a log though.
